Goa Group Transport for Villas, Weddings and Reunions

Plan group transport in Goa one movement at a time: count the people and bags for each trip, pin every pickup on a map, and give the drivers one coordinator to call. Then choose the vehicles: a Winger for up to 12, a Tempo Traveller for up to 17, 20 or 26, or a mix of cars.

Villas, weddings, reunions and company trips all go wrong in the same way: a stream of last-minute messages from different guests. One plan and one person in charge fixes most of it.

Which vehicle suits a group in Goa?

Passenger numbers don't include the driver:

• Winger: up to 12 passengers, a Tata Winger

• Tempo Traveller 17: up to 17 passengers, a Force Traveller

• Tempo Traveller 20: up to 20 passengers

• Tempo Traveller 26: up to 26 passengers

• Premium MPV: 7 passengers, a Toyota Innova Crysta

• MPV: 6 passengers, a Maruti Ertiga or Toyota Innova

The name "Tempo Traveller" sticks because the van was launched in 1987 as the Tempo Traveller; its maker has since become Force Motors. See each size on its own page: the Winger, and the 17-seat, 20-seat and 26-seat Tempo Travellers.

One big vehicle keeps everyone together and is easier to coordinate. Two or three smaller ones are more flexible when guests are staying in different places or leaving at different times. For a wedding, a mix often works: big vans for the event runs, and smaller cars for airport pickups as guests arrive at different times.

Do airport runs need a bigger vehicle than local trips?

Usually, yes. A Tempo Traveller that carries 17 people to dinner may not carry 17 people and their suitcases from the airport. Plan airport movements separately and give the bag count for each one. Each vehicle page shows how many large bags it takes.

At both airports the kerb is for quick pickups, so a group should be gathered and ready before the vehicle pulls in. Parking, when it applies, is added after the trip at actual cost.

How do I plan wedding guest transport in Goa?

Break the event into movement blocks, and for each one list the time, the pickup pin, the drop pin, the number of people and the bags:

1. Airport arrivals, grouped by flight and airport

2. Check-in transfers to hotels or villas

3. Event departures: ceremony, sangeet, dinner or sightseeing

4. Late return trips after each event

5. Departure-day airport runs

Add a buffer to anything that protects a flight, a venue slot or a ceremony time. Group assembly, photographs and long goodbyes always take longer than the plan says.

One line per movement is enough. For example: "Friday, landing 11.40 am at Mopa (GOX), 14 guests, 16 large bags and 10 cabin bags, to the villa pin in Assagao, lead contact Priya." Anyone on your side, and anyone on ours, can read that line and know exactly what's needed.

How do I keep a group day out on schedule?

Sightseeing with a big group is mostly about regrouping. A few habits help:

• Agree a meeting time at every stop, and make it the same spot as the drop.

• Book lunch ahead for groups of ten or more, so you're not waiting for tables.

• Plan a comfort stop roughly every couple of hours.

• Keep the most important stop early in the day, when everyone is fresh and on time.

Can a Tempo Traveller reach every villa?

No. Some villas sit down narrow lanes, behind security gates or up steep approaches that a large van can't take. Send the map pin for every villa and venue early. If the last stretch is too tight, we'll agree a meeting point on the main road before the day, not at the gate.

When do Goa's roads get busiest?

Plan more time and book earlier around these dates:

• Christmas and New Year. The peak of the season; Calangute is at its busiest at Christmas, New Year and in May.

How are group trips booked and paid?

Single movements can be booked online: airport transfers, a car with a driver by the hour for 8, 10 or 12 hours, and our private day tours. You see a clear fare for the whole vehicle before you pay, and pay in full online.

In every case, fuel, the driver allowance and GST are in the fare. Tolls, parking and airport charges are not part of the fare: any standard airport toll shows as its own line before you pay, and other tolls and parking are charged at actual cost, only when they apply. Extra kilometres, hours or waiting beyond what was booked are charged at the rates shown before you pay.

What should the driver know?

Give each driver the lead passenger's name and phone number for their vehicle, and nothing they don't need. If a guest needs extra time to board, tell us when you book, not at the kerb.
