Our travel guides answer the questions people ask us about getting around Goa. Here's how we put them together.
Who writes them
Our guides are written by Sanket Mishal, a co-founder of Goa Beyond who has run a tour and travels business in Goa since 2010, with the Goa Beyond team, the same people who plan the trips and run our cars and drivers. We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. Before a guide goes live, its facts are checked against the sources listed with it, and our team decides what is published.
How we check facts
Every place fact, date and rule in a guide should be backed by a source, listed at the end of the guide under "Behind this guide". We prefer official sources, such as the India Meteorological Department, the Government of Goa's Official Gazette, Goa Tourism and the airports. Where those don't cover something, we use reference works and established newspapers.
Festival and holiday dates are checked against official notices. When we can't confirm something, such as a date that hasn't been announced yet, we say so or leave it out. Distances and drive times are given as "about", because traffic and weather change them.
How we date and update guides
Each guide shows the date it was first published. When we change a guide's travel details, it shows the date it was last updated, and when someone on our team checks them, it shows who reviewed it and when. Guides tied to a season or a year, such as a festival or a month, carry that year in the title.
Why we never type prices into a guide
A price typed into an article goes out of date the day a rate changes. So we don't do it. Where a guide shows fares, the table comes straight from the live rates in our booking system and changes when they change. The booking page always shows the fare for your date before you pay.
How our images are made
The images in our guides are illustrations made with AI image tools. Since October 2026, any new image of a real place or one of our vehicles is generated from real reference photos of it, so it looks like the real thing, without invented landmarks. Every image is approved by our team before it goes live.
No paid placements
Nobody pays to be mentioned in our guides. We don't take payment from hotels, restaurants or other businesses to include or rank them. When a guide mentions one of our own services, such as a tour or a car with a driver, we name it as ours and link to it so you can see the details.
